Sunday Stitch School No. 170 Danish Knot Cross stitch

No.170 Danish Knot Cross st

Another of Queenie’s stitches that was so easy to create. I used perle 8 for the sample on Aida cloth and isolated the first. Isolated stitches would work well for embroidery, while the connected ones could be used to fill shapes. The lesson for this stitch can be found at Queenie’s blog here

  1. You are so quick. I haven’t finished my homework yet.
It IS an easy and fun stitch. Filling shapes, eh? Should I try it as a Canvas stitch, I wonder? Are there any knotted Canvas stitches?

    • I did a check and found none Queenie. Maybe you could be the first to invent one.

  2. Well, i8 do like this stitch, and the one previous as well…i loved the thread on the long stitch.

    • Hi, Ktj. the thread used is Perle 8 variegated.

  3. I like this one! Might add it to my patchwork squares.

    • The stitch is easy and I hope you do try it.

  4. The stitch, used individually, would work well for a filler behind larger embroidered flowers I think.

    • That sounds interesting, MA.

  5. You’ve done a great job with the stitches Queenie posts. I participated in TAST several years ago. Maybe I need to get back to learning new stitches.

    • Thank you Pamela, It’s always fun and there are lots of Queenie’s stitches I had not heard of. Tast is also enjoyable.

  6. A stitch I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. I will have to try it out soon. I thought I might make up a block I could stitch on during treatment, if that is possible. Another way of marking my journey. =)

    • Hi Susan there are Many stitches on Queenie’s list and a great way to pass time when you have a journey to make 🙂
