No. 158 Invented stitch (half cross)

Here is my second error of reading a stitch.

This is another layout of the stitch with slightly different thread lengths and a little lower/more apart than No.157. I’m wondering if the longer ones could work as stems for flowers. It is fun to play with anyway.

You will find the second version of the stitch on Queenie’s

  1. Love that cross stitch Maureen

    • Thanks for your visit Barbara. The stitches are so easy and I hope to find more ways of using them.

  2. Great idea! You have made a very beautiful cross of that Invented Cross Stitch and it is beautifully framed with Invented Half Cross Stitches.
Hm, used as a floral stem, yes that would look good. You are an inventive stitcher, Maureen.

    • Thank you Queenie. It didn’t take long to play with the variations. I’m sure there will be more ways to include the stitches in other work. I’m now waiting for the last of the trio.

  3. Yes, yes! Stems!

    • Thanks Susan. I’ll keep it in mind.

  4. Stems – yes….or used simply as grasses. Another great stitch!!

    • It is a simple and useful stitch MA
