Sunday Stitch School No.121 Point á la Minute

The stitch worked well on Aida cloth and it was easy to do.I used a variegated perle 8 thread.

I fancied using this fabric for the extra embroidering.  Without the assistance of Aida holes, the work is definitely not as neat.. but overall, I like it.  I used a crochet thread, I think size 12….oops label lost.

  1. Beautiful, you have been working hard making so many of these crosses.

    • Kind words, Queenie. thank you. I
The number wasn’t a bother but the needle and thread placements was a little frustrating. I’ll get out the magnifying light and see it that makes difference.

  2. I think it’s interesting how different they look as a plus compared to an x. I really like that top variegated thread, too. It would make a good substitute for bouillon stitches, I think.

    • The cross and square do look different and the variegated thread also gives a different look to stitches

  3. Pretty terrific looking either way….i can see you using it as a jumping off point fr all kinds of imaginative things…..flowers in each this corner etc etc…or sequins(beads) in the spaces if you do it all over….

    • That’s a good thought of adding extras to work I do later.

  4. Oh, wow, I just assumed these were bouillon stitches. Nice work.

    • Thanks Diane. The stitch fools the eye, doesn’t it!

  5. Good thing I read the comment from ‘yarngoddess’ because I too was thinking bullion stitches. This one would make really nice flowers.

  6. I hadn’t thought of flowers for the stitch.
