A Year’s sketching

After drawing the Cheese factory I decided to see if I could draw my own barn and this was the result.  I used a 2B pencil.

and my effort from Meaghan Roberts original.  I used Caran D’Ache watercolour pencils.

I loved the bright colours in her painting.  The kookaburra was also from Meaghan’s collection of paintings in the Artists magazine.  I’m not sure where I found the wren.  Again I used the Caran D’Ache pencils.

  1. Of course, I don’t have a picture of your barn, but that looks definitely like a barn to me! I bet it’s a good match for reality. Your frog is especially beautiful. You have learned so much in only a few months!

    • Thanks Susan, I didn’t have a model for the barn this time but remembered some details of an earlier published one I did.

  2. It is so nice to follow your progress. Frog and wren are looking good.

  3. Thank you Queenie. I’m always amazed at the true and brilliant real life colours of birds and animals. So many seem fake and yet are not.

  4. oooooh – I LOVE your barn!!!!! Any chance I could see a picture of the real thing? (not that I have one bit of love for old barns or anything!).
