A Year’s Sketching

I’ve been slow posting lately, so it’s time to change that.

The original sketch was by Alfred Wainwright and though I tried to keep the building as close as possible I didn’t stick to all the background as it was.

Pen work.  As usual I use a 2B pencil before I add the ink lines.  It’s very soothing to just draw lines.

  1. Love your sketching Maureen – very good. 🙂 ×

  2. Thanks Barbara. I know I’ve come a long way in 6 months but also know there is a great amount still to learn.

  3. You have moved from sketching to serious drawing. The improvement is fantastic.

    • Thanks Queenie, I really enjoy this style and hope to improve with other methods too.

  4. Great stuff Maureen! I love Pooh!

    • Thanks so much, Jules.

  5. Both of them are great, but I would love that first one framed and on my wall. =) It’s the kind of picture that makes me wish I could climb in and live there.

    • Thanks very much Susan. I think it would be lovely in summer but awfully cold in wintertime.

  6. I love Pooh in the honey tree!! With a daughter-in-love whose name is Winnie, how could I not?

    • You make me smile Mary Anne.
