1 Year’s Stitches

Today finishes my 4th hoop work.  I added French Knot, blue silk ribbon flowers to the shrub.

I’ve always fancied growing  Ornamental Kale, this Cast-on stitch version will have to suffice.
I replaced the two iris on the right as they’d become frayed with over-handling.

I mislaid the 2 buttons I had for the wall ornaments but found 2 glass beads that look a bit like narrow windows.

and finally the completed garden

  1. Who wouldn’t want to take a stroll in your lovely garden. The ornamental kale looks almost too real!

    • It is kind of you Queenie, to say so. I think the kale might be a bit tough.

  2. Just so well done and inviting. What’s next…

    • Thank you Diane. I’m always happy to complete a project. I’ve a new project ready to go- in time for Christmas I hope.

  3. Wow! What a stunning piece. Beautiful work.

  4. How kind of you to say so, Renee.

  5. Absolutely lived up to it’s initial promise! What a treasure you’ve made. I look forward to seeing what your Christmas project is now. A gift for someone who will appreciate it?

    • Thank Susan. The embroidery will be a reindeer – for myself.

  6. Kale – now who but you would think to include that in a flower garden? Wonderful idea! Actually, wonderful piece of work too. I, of course, had to embiggen it to see all the little details.

  7. MA, kale is often used as street plantings in our area and the various tones are gorgeous. I’m glad you like the garden.
