A sketch a day- 2

I hope this is clear enough to see.  It was more difficult to make clear than to actually sketch it.    One of the drawings that was mislaid some weeks ago.  Meant to look like a vase or profiles.

One of my daughters gave this as a gift to her sister and before she received it I drew the tiny daffodils.  I’ll be adding water-paints to it soon.

Tomorrow I will post 4 as they need to be in sequence and I’m happy to say they are better than these two.

  1. Love seeing these! Inspires me to do the same…

    • Thank you Bev Kunz for the compliment. I never thought I’d get this far but persistence is paying off and it’s such fun. I hope you do take it up so I can come visit your blog.

  2. I can’t imagine a better drawing than your daffodils! The vase/profiles always intrigues me. Perception is everything.

    • Thanks for your confidence in me, Susan. It’s a common drawing of the vase/face and you are right, it is intriguing.

  3. The ‘vase of profiles’ must have been hard to get equal on both sides. I know how hard it is to write the mirror image of a letter of the alphabet (except A, H, I, M, O, T, U, V, W, X, Y of course!)

    • I did need several tries at keeping the lines equal. It’s been a while since I sketched that and I may have worked one side, right-way-up and the other upside down.
