1 Year’s stitches- Day 36

Two  new leaves.  The left leaf  is Basque stitch.    I used 3 strands of Cottage Garden thread, named Golden Gully.

The right side leaf edge is Perle stitch and the center is filled with Rice stitch. I used variegated DMC threads for both.

More information on the group can be found at 1 Year of Stitches

  1. What a great idea to use Basque stitch for the leaf, and Perle stitch is a first for me. The variegated thread is perfect for autumnal leaves.

    • I have 11 months left to try lots more stitches on the fabric. I had autumn in mind too.

  2. I like the sampler aspect to the leaves themselves – a lesson in different ways to create leaves.

    • I love that crazy quilting encourages the use of various stitches.

  3. That basque stitch on the leaf is amazing. I wouldn’t ever have thought to use that for a leaf, but now I think I’ll have to find a place for some!

  4. You should take part in a contest for one of the
finest sites on the web. I’m going to recommend this
    site!
