1 Year’s stitches – Day 22

1 Year’s stitches group can be found here.

Day 22.   Just a few Ribbon roses.

I can’t remember where/when I learned to twist/roll the silk ribbon before stem stitching around a French knot.             I can’t find any tutorials for them, so far.

Whipped Chain stitch and those ever useful Detached Chain stitches completed the work.

  1. Such beautiful curls on the rose petals. You have tamed the ribbon!

  2. So, so lovely! Thanks for the tip on twisting the ribbon. I’ll try that next time.

  3. Love these pretty roses.

  4. Thank you Queenie, Susan and Annet. The roses are easy to make.

  5. ‘Just’ ribbon roses? I think not – they are so pretty and definitely look realistic on my computer monitor.
