WIP – Dill

This latest work  really is a Work In Progress and a very simple one.  The stem – 4 threads used- is made with Whipped Chain stitch.  It is lovely and rope-y to feel.

Second photo – Fly stitch leaves at the base,  Stem stitched flower stems and Straight stitches above.        The flower heads are to be French Knots  in 2 shades and I have yet to wire a small leaf to sit with the existing frond.

I didn’t know if you click on a photo 3 times it enlarges more.

  1. Beautiful!! 😍

    • Thank you for your kind words and visit, Maria. They are appreciated.

  2. Great in-progress photo. Thank you for the tip of clicking three times. The details are easy to see and great for studying.

  3. I’m glad you like the progress shots. I stumbled onto the 3rd click and will use it on other blogs now.

  4. I love the in-progress shots, too. The photos do enlarge, as long as they are posted as attachment page or media files. I suspect your blog is probably attachment page as default. If you ever post something you don’t want to be enlarge, maybe for copyright reasons, there’s a setting on the Attachment Display Settings (on media – to the right) where you can select none and then it won’t enlarge. =)

    • Thanks for the info Susan. It’s handy to know.

  5. Whipped chain stitch is a favourite of mine – along with whipped back stitch. I really like the result I get with both of them.

    • Isn’t it amazing how neat stitching becomes when whipped.
