CQJP March block

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I used Sharon’s CQ block No 2, from her ‘I dropped the button box’ series, which can be found here.   Thanks for sharing Sharon, you’ve saved me a lot of time.

Stitches used on the block are – top left- Chain, Pistil, Cretan and Reversed Buttonhole Bar.

On the right top are Herringbone/Cretan and back to back Fly.

Bottom right – Diamond

Others are
Buttonhole, Running, Det. Chain, Alternating Barred Chain, Fly, Up /Down B’hole, Stem. The bird I stitched with single strands of Rajmahal in Long/short stitch.

  1. I really like the over all “picture”.Are birds going to be your theme for 2014 Maureen? I look forward to seeing more. And may I ask where you are finding the birds you stitch?

    • Yes Maureen, birds are my theme this year. I Googled for birds, no special places, traced around pictures and then just stitched.

  2. Great work! You have made use of so many stitches. The bird, of course, takes centre stage, but your Diamond stitches are nice and neat, too.

    • Thanks Queenie. The samples are not large but at least I did some of the TAST I missed during 2013.

  3. It is good to catch up again. Love seeing your beautiful work again.

    • Thank you Shirley.

  4. Beautiful block! The bird looks pretty but I love that little snail 🙂 The diamond stitch fills up the block so well.

    • Thank you Anita.
