Tast 3, week34

Linked Double Chain worked on canvas.  I used rayon flat floss in the left row.

On the right the thread is a 2 ply cotton.

The white leaves were stitched with a thick cotton from a flour bag closure.  To nice to throw away.

The flower was stitched with 6 strands of Needle Necessities thread and the green leaves with

2 strands of DMC

A winter tree I made with DMC perle 8 for the dark brown and very thick one in cream.  Too thick to be a 5 perle.

For this sample I used one strand of a variegated 6 strand, hand painted Japanese thread.

The flower buds were also stitched with a single strand, of DMC= 3 single chains on top of each other which I then buttonholed.  This work is on a block intended for the CQJP

  1. I love how you experimented with different threads. I especially love your blue flower and the use of the flour sack thread. Those leaves are really lovely.
