TAST 3 – Week 26, Palestrina stitch

I used a gold rayon, similar to Edmar Lola.

This is work on a top I made.  The flowers are Detached Cast-ons.

I used a cream rayon thread.

My old samples are here , here  and here

  1. Maureen, these samples are both so gorgeous – I know stitching with the rayon shiny threads is not easy but you have done a fantastic job here….all so beautiful and neat 🙂

    • Thank you Barbara. I find I have to make sure the thread remains twisted and give a turn or two every now and then. It helps.

  2. Pretty work. I’m like Barbara, I find shiny threads too much of a challenge. I like the old sample with the beads, great idea.

  3. I am always so impressed by the number of pieces you have made over the years. The four hearts were lovely, the CQ seams and now the Indian inspired (?) fantastic top. LOVELY!

    • Thank you Queenie. The pattern was not Indian inspired.
Did I dream it up or see it somewhere?…. I have no idea.

  4. Am sure this top must be gorgeous.I’ve enjoyed looking at your other samplers .Great job Maureen!
Celtic pattern with palestrina stitch is lovely.Love your CQ seams.
It’s inspiring me to try CQ 🙂 I do quilting but I’ve done only one CQ .

    • Thank you Anita. I hope you do try the CQ. I like small projects, which is what Crazy Quilting is all about.
