TAST 3 week 6 – Chevron

My samples for the week.

Whipped Chevron

Chevron with Lazy daisies and French knots

3 seam treatments

The yellow Chevron with flowers is on an unfinished  CQJP block

I am outside my comfort zone with this method and it does not say much for my ability when I have to

‘improve’ it with extras..  I used eyelash yarn, perle 8 and 5, fancy yarns, one of which had sequins woven in it.

I worked on velvet for this sample and used Waste Canvas

which made the stitching easy.

Sorry the photos are so poor.

  3. Maureen, I loveyour seam samples, they are just beautiful. I like the way you have worked the rows of the chevron…the bottom sample looks like netting. Last but not least, Your free sample reminds me of part of a reef

  4. Great idea on the velvet, using waste canvas. Your samples are just gorgeous!

  5. Each one is just beautiful, so unique. You are putting a lot of time into these and getting wonderful results. I especially like the samples worked on the black velvet. So dramatic.

  9. Lovely samples Maureen. Wanted to thank you for your lovely comment on the CQJP blog about my block. I get a lot of inspiration from both your blog and your flickr photos. As a newbie to CQ they help greatly. Thank you. Lorraine

    • Thank you Lorraine for your kind comment. I guess we all help each other with our work. I know I have learned a lot over the years by the eye candy of others, and still do.
