TAST 2 Week 26 Chained cross stitch

I added this week’s stitch to an existing seam of Detached chains.

The first stitch is normal size and the next has longer bars.  After this one I turned the work for each successive cross stitch.  This was easy to do and I like the look it gives.

Starting at the top row, this is the right version.  Below this I have worked the plain bar from left top to right bottom so the points of the chains meet.

I repeated this on the other side of the work.  I find the chains tend to move on the soft fabric.   I like the stitch but in future will cheat and stitch down around the chain.  It would make a very nice border.

  1. I really like this stitch Maureen – I’ve come to a stop with cq work, I just could not think what to stitch to use but now I know. Thank you.
