Triple chain – more

I have been fiddling with this stitch as I liked the first part where the three straight stitches connected but felt it lost something by covering with the next long chain.

I set the pattern by using Sharon’s version in the first triple stitch only, then changed to ‘ordinary’ chain stitch.

The second version uses Sharon’s stitch all through but I passed the vertical stitch under the two side bars.

All of the  third version is the way this stitch should be.

1st row         2nd row           third row

I know it is a personal choice but I found I had more control over placement by doing the normal chain.  It was also less bulky on the back.

this photo of the back is upside down so the  rows are the same in both photos.

WEEK 23  Wave stitch

Late again.  Between too many projects, visitors and a misbehaving computer it’s hard to keep on time lately.

  1. This really is a pretty edging stitch Maureen. I hope to be able to give this stitch go shortly…..I have been sorting our some fabrics for crazy patchwork – in a couple of weeks I may have something to show (hopefully!). LOL

  2. Thanks for pursuing this idea. I think I would just do a variation on the stitch like a pinwheel with four stitches meeting in the middle. There’s probably a name for it already….

Forgetabout the long overlapping chain – doesn’t add a thing to the stitch.
