De-stashing still

Clearing the decks before the New Year’s projects take over, I’m showing 3 of the quilts I finished last year.

This was started about 18 years ago when my DD2 was doing a Baltimore course.  I was amazed at how she turned under such small seamed and awkward curves.

DD1 encouraged me to try myself and I started with a sheep.  So pleased with myself that I managed,  I kept going, making up my own designs.

At this stage in life I was more into knitting for GKs and adults and the blocks were put aside.

Then CQ took over my life and the quilt was totally forgotten until Sharon threw out a challenge to de-stash our craft treasures.

I’m still working on this.   The quilt was finally brought to light and completed.  Any baby this would have gone to is now grown, so I’ll keep it for a GGC.

This quilt was made from ‘next season’ dress samples, which were given to me.

Being cut into squares I thought it would be quick and easy to complete but found these ‘squares’ were not true squares and needed re-cutting..boor-ring!

so the top was buried in the     ‘can’t be bothered basket.’

as was this one.  More of the same fabric squares.  I’m ignoring the untouched squares at present.

The quilts have been very handy with the family influx during the Christmas holidays and it is Sharon I have to thank, for getting me moving with them.

Thanks Sharon.
