I tried to stick with satin stitch and straight stitch but is crossed straightstitch included?

With the gold edged flowers I used two shades of DMC embroidery thread and did satin, long/short satin and sloping satin for the leaf and stem.

For the house I literally used odds and ends of mainly DMC perle 8, with a bit of DMC embroidery thread thrown in.

On the sampler I used wool for the tulips, a thick soft acrylic about 14 ply or a little thicker. I love the way they look and they reminded me of Sharon’s lush Oyster stitch. I left off the greenery on a couple as I thought they would make a good border by themselves.

The other sample was using 3 strands of 4 ply wool in off white and also blue. The yellow is an 8 ply and the fans of yellow are DMC perle 8.

  1. Maureen, I really love that little house you created, and all your stitches are beautiful as always!

  2. What beautiful work you are doing! I love the little house. Are you sure you wouldn’t like to be on the Around the Block webring? I have an opening right now. =)
