I purchased a piece of Gingham and tried out some patterns with white knitting cotton and green Perle 8.
I found when I did the all white cross stitch – bottom right- with the diagonal stitches last it looked messy, so I then tried the vertical/horizontal cross last, which did make it lay nicely.
I thought the round pattern looks like a poor man’s Shisha with the white square showing.
The stitches are simple and quite relaxing to do.

Nice variety of stitches. I enjoyed playing around too and it works up quickly. I wonder what February’s challenge will be!
