Swap Blocks

I signed myself up for swapping two blocks in the CQAW this year and In February I sent this Winter block to Hideko.

and this is the second, a floral block for Emiko. I have never before embroidered a CQ block without the normal seams. Well I did manage one here, which has bullion roses on it.

I enjoyed doing both blocks and wish now I had been in more swaps.

WOW oh wow are those blocks beautiful! I can’t decide which I love more! LOL

Wow…both are very beautiful. I sure would love to have you stitchone of my blocks. you do beautiful work! I am just beginning this work and loving it, however my next blocks will be using plainer fabrics as my seams do not show up as well on prints.

Both blocks are so beautiful Maureen, they will love them!

Your blocks are just beautiful!!!!! The second one looks like it has some stumpwork on it. Wow!

Hi dear friend
The blocks are wonderful!! so beautiful!!
A kiss

these are both beautiful blocks Maureen…well, there are always more block swaps so guess you will have to sign up for them. I like round robins myself, but have always been intrigues by the do the whole block thing…. especially when the work is a lovely as yours!

Thank you girls for your compliments. They are very much appreciated.

Kathy you were right that there is stumpwork on the floral block. The top right flower and berries, the beehive and the hedgehog. I used Jane Nicholas book for the patterns.

I give credit to JoWynn Johns for offering ideas when I ran out of inspiration and I used a variation of a needlework sample of hers to begin again. Once re-started it was hard to stop.
cheers Maureen
